What does your barcode look like? In regular font not barcode font…
For example say job 1234 Assembly 0 oper 10…
1243-0-10 what character do you use for the “-“
Or what’s the trigger character for Epicor to know where to parse the data?

This may help you, but it's a little more work.
We use 2D barcodes containing several different pieces of information. So I created a field on every form that everyone scans into and created an on leave event that parses the data into the correct fields on the form using the forms dataview.
Dim OprNumX as EpiCombo = CType(csm.GetNativeControlReference("4469529c-d636-4205-b17a-def6a7469d8f"), EpiCombo)
Dim edv As EpiDataView = CType(oTrans.EpiDataViews("Start"), EpiDataView)
edv.dataView(edv.Row).BeginEdit()
edv.dataView(edv.Row)("JobNum") = ParsedScan(0)
edv.dataView(edv.Row)("AssemblySeq") = ParsedScan(1)
edv.dataView(edv.Row).EndEdit()
edv.Notify(New EpiNotifyArgs(oTrans, edv.Row, edv.Column))
OprNumX.focus()

Did you try customizing the tab number ordering so that it tabs in the correct order?

Yeah but that doens't fix the notification events when you enter the job it automatically tabs to a specific field.

Back in Vantage 6 (who knew I would ever utter those words)
You could scan one long bar code such as JOBXXX-ASSY-SEQ
And it would allow you to start the activity from that now with version 9 and even 8 the assembly and sequence are drop downs and the dataview triggers auto tabs when you type in a job number so you can't use a single barcode or even multiple barcodes to start the activity.
Has anyone worked around this?
