Print separate crystal reports at one time

I'm bumping this back up to the top because I have a similar issue. I would like to print two reports off one style. Although smashing the two reports together is a possibility I would like to know if anyone has made any headway towards being able to do this with two separate reports?

My understanding of using the ',' delimiter between two report locations (like the pack slip print screen) is that it's something behind the scenes of those print screens making that capable. So that seems to be out of the question.

I could create a custom print screen, but that seems like more work than creating the combined report.

Any info, insight, or ideas are appreciated.

-Thanks

Hello all,

Essentially i want to be able to print out each version individually or together at the same time if needed. I looked at the auto print rules but I'm not sure how that would fit the bill.

Thanks!
Take a look at the Pack slip...A comma separates two reports - I expect you can do this for other reports too

Hi Karen,

Thank you for the quick response. I tried what you suggested but it doesn't appear to work. When you print the PackSlip, you have checkboxes on the print dialog to choose if you want the report, the label or both. I'm guessing that is sending a parameter to the report style to pick the first entry, second or both in the comma separated list. Unless I'm missing something, it doesn't seem like it will just print out multiple reports if they are listed in a report style.

Anyone else know a way to make this work?

Hi!

I think you have to make a process that will be called by a custom button
you would make. Set in the auto-print a new printer (printer that you want
to print the papers with) like rules.

No, not that I'm aware of. However, you could have one Crystal Report that
had *both* reports within. For example, you have RPT-A and RPT-B. Make a
copy of RPT-A call it RPT-C. In the report footer of RPT-C, insert a
subreport which will be RPT-B.

Then, when Style 3 is selected, it fires off RPT-C which has both reports.

This is exactly how I was going to attempt to rig it. I was hoping there was another (easier) way to pull it off without having to create a third report! Maybe down the road I can dig into the logic from the PackSlip print screen and recreate what they are doing there. The comma separated list that Karen pointed out intrigues me as it clearly allows for the print decision to occur on the fly. Whether or not that code is easily accessible or not is the key.

Thanks again for all the suggestions.
