E9: Shipping Direct from Job

On 8.03.409a they'll sure complete or close even if unshipped (same is true got unrecieved make to stock job) - but that is job completion/colosing processes (not auto complete configured in method job or at company config).
 
Write yourself a handy BAQ search to use out of job completion/closing to ID unshipped make directs that were closed & just reopen them (and if configured to auto close on make directs, perhaps rethink that.)
 
Completed status does not inhibit shipment (or receipt of make to stock).

We typically wait 7 days after shipment to close a job in order to review it for errors and a few other things that may straggle in, the exception being the end of the month well close them sooner if eligible.

Roughly half our parts are make direct, and on 9.05.702A you can ship a job at any time AFTER it has been released and BEFORE it is closed, regardless of any other job activity (yes, I've seen jobs get shipped with NO material issued and NO labor recorded). I put BPMs in place to ensure that the job has been COMPLETED before shipping, much to the relief of our controller.

How do you handle shipping a SO that is direct? If the job auto closes, then we cant use the job to ship the SO.
