Drop ship to a Vendor

We do something similar. We have part 123 that we purchase from vendor A then send it to Vendor B. Vendor B modifies or "Reworks" part 123 and we received back from Vendor B part 456.

What we ended up doing was turning part 456 into a mfg part. We created a BOM for this part which included part 123 and a subcontract operation for Vendor B's rework on that part.

If you need more details about the subcontract operation let me know.

Subject: [Vantage] Drop ship to a Vendor

Hi,

I have a few purchased assemblies that contain items from another
vendor & I'm trying to figure out how I could handle them in Vantage.

Here's how it goes.
We buy kit 123 from Vendor A and have them ship it directly to Vendor B.
Vendor B.
Vendor B uses kit 123 to build assembly 456 for us.
We receive assembly 456 from Vendor B.

Anybody have similar situations they've had to figure out in Vantage?

Thanks,

BTW, we do this because if Vendor B were to buy kit 123, they would
tack on 20%, which is quite a few $.
