There is also an error in your .vtg file.
Your database should not be located at
c:\epicor\vantage\db\vantage
unless you are running this on a stand-alone pc.
Your database should be on a mapped network drive,
something like:
v:\vantage\db\vantage

Make sure you have an entry in your services file as

vantage XXXX\tcp

where XXXX is the port number of the Vantage db service
