Updateable BAQ Blank Title 97840

(system) #1

 Jen,

I am trying to use updateable BAQ to add Sales orders to Epicor from another source.  I can add records to the OrderHed table without a problem.  I am now trying to add records to the OrderDtl table.  I cannot get records added to this table.  The interface says that the data was updated without an error, but the record was not added.  If you have had success adding records to the OrderDtl table any help that you are willing to give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

You need to first create an updateable BAQ. You can only update 1 table at a time which can be quite limiting. If you need to update more than 1 table you will need to create multiple BAQ's. Then you need to add them to a Dashboard. We have multiple BAQ's that reference OrderHed, JobOper, and OrderDtl respectively. We use publish and subscribe on the db so that when the user has his/her cursor on an OrderHed record all other BAQ's show data from other tables that are linked to that SO.

Good Day Aman:

I have used the UBAQ's also. Very helpful - particularly if you have
a Programmable keyboard so you can automate the repetitive key strokes.
I change 2,000 records in an hour.

Have you put them on a dashboard successfully?

Do you think Cut and Paste could be used? I have not tried that yet.

Good Day Advantage:

What do you mean by " How to use?"

A. How to create one? Instruction are good - is easy to create,
but there is a trick to run - you have to 'regenerate" each time you
start it.
B. What can you do with it? Cahneg individual fields or a few at
once - BUT only ONE record at a time - prohrammable keyboards helps
because it involve 4-6 keytrokes\Click - CANNOT cut paste.
C. how trigger? You can make it a BAQ off a search, or you can
put on a Dashboard.

I wrote an Updateable BAQ that has a custom method off the Get List method that updates a field on each Order Release. When I tie it to a Dashboard it works great, but when I run the BAQ via a BAQ Report or BAQ Export the BPM does not execute. Any thoughts on why or how I can write a method to run once a night to accomplish this task.
