Ship To Limit

Dale,

What are you linking to (table(s)), and how? I have tried to do this here,
without much luck. I get time-out errors. When it would successfully
connect, I wouldn't always have the correct information.

Hello,

We have a Customer who needs approximately 600 ship to addresses. Has anyone ever had this many, or run into any kind of a limit for ship to's? The ship to ID is a 4 character field, so I'm guessing if there is a limit, it's 9999. Vantage support is looking into it, but I thought I would check here for some real-world examples.

Thanks,

We have one customer who has 1100+ ship-to addresses and have had no
problems in Vantage. Most are small accounts and are delivered via UPS. We
have an older UPS shipping system installed and hope for an upgrade so that
we can import the Vantage shipping info.

Jim,

You might take a look at UPS's Worldship. I use an ODBC link to get the
information from Vantage. This way we only keep one copy of all addresses in
Vantage. There is never a case where the information is incorrect because
there are multiple copies.

Acutally if you use letters and numbers the limit is more like
1679616. (That's if my math memory serves me correctly)

Previous employer, different software, but we had some similar customers
with numerous shipping and customer contacts under the same parent entity.

Problem was, everyone kept butting heads over record locks with order
entry, shipping, A/R, etc. trying to access the same customer so
frequently. We found splitting them up into a few different customer IDs
helped.
