Processing for ordering private label products

Thanks, Bob for taking the time to respond.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is BOL?

We are considering setting up an approved supplier for each of the specific private label products we sell and having non-private label products have only one supplier price list. Private label products would also include another approve supplier (either manufacturer or supplier) of the private label product. We haven't really tested this out yet, but its nevertheless a theory at this moment.

In your current system, how do you identify a supplier for your PL products?

We implemented private label by adding a UD checkbox to the Customer Maintenance screen that signified private label.  We customized our pack slip and BOL to check this flag and not display any of our company info if the flag were TRUE.  We also utilized the Customer Part Cross Reference to give the products they buy more generic names, i.e. removing our brand names from the descriptions.

Hope that helps.

Our company has private label products we sells to customer along with the regular list of items we carry on our inventory. We are looking to include these private label products in Epicor for ordering and are looking at ways to do so. Have you come across a strategy that works well for ordering private label products through Epicor?
