Opportunity/Quote Entry - Re-order lines

In the Quote form there is a sequence number under quotedtl.DisplaySeq and in the Database. It is easy to change.

There is also a sequence on the Order Acknowledgement form and in the database too.

I changed all the forms to show the sequence which was cosmetically better.

We have Sales Kits -

The problem we had was when the quote was turned into the sales order, when shipping went to ship the Order line sequence was not in line with creating the packslip.

Example - line 1 was a kit with 6 components.

On the quote and sales order the next line was 7.

On the printed form the next line was 2 (we don't print kit components.

When shipping was trying to ship line 2 they were getting an error.

Long story short - test this all the way through. It can be confusing.

Using the opportunity/quote entry module. Vantage 8.03.409C.
Is it possible to re-order lines?
What about change the number of a line?

When I create a quote, if I have to add a line it always gets added as the last line, and the order cannot be re-arranged.
Also, if I delete a line, the line numbers then make no sense when I am ready to submit the quote. This is distracting and confusing to the recipients.

I would hope that there is a way to change the order of the lines and the line numbers, but I cannot find it.

Does anyone know more about this that might be able to chime in?
Short Answer ?? NO

You can add a custom field where you can set your "lown" order but that's
only for printing.
