We are looking at the possibility of moving resource intensive processes
like reporting to another server. However, we have not been able to find a
way to create multiple system agents. It seems that there is only one
system agent, and only one port can be defined for the task agent.

Has anyone offloaded heavy processes to another physical appserver? How
did you accomplish this?

First you can create a new Appserver pool and direct all printing and processes to this separate print and process Appserver.
Support can help you with documentation on this.

Then if you need more control in your system agent configuration choose Actions -> Edit Task Rules
You can then configure companies and users to direct processing at separate system agents.

Hence you could submit processes under a certain user and direct these tasks at a completely separate set of Appserver agents.
