Job to Job Costing

>>as non-stock and the costing method is average.
And any backflushing?

I remember having mtl costs problems with Average costing and non-stock (job to job)
In my case... I believe mtl's weren't fully issued in the child job before that job part was issued it to it's parent
- either manually or by the system due to backflushing when "completed" qty(s) were entered on the final operation in MES.

I can't remember how I spotted it originally.
I built a series of reports that are run at the end of each shift now for listing any jobs with cost/qty exceptions.
As long as I catch them the same day, pretty easy to clean up.

When we have a job set-up direct to another job, the part will issue to the parent job but the costing goes to a variance account.  What are missing?  We want the cost to issue to the parent part.

All costs must be captured to the child job before the button is pushed to transfer to the parent job. Any costs added after the button is pushed - i.e. issuing material, adding time, etc. will go to the manufacturing variance account and not to the parent job. Discipline must be in place to successfully use the Job to Job features.

We are doing that. FYI - We had this working in 8.03 and it stopped when we moved to 9.05.

You said transferred? We are completing the child as normal. The part is issuing to the parent job, but the cost is not.

In E9 how are your material costs rolling up?
Company config --> Modules --> Production --> Job --> Enable Mfg Cost Elements

And wondering what are the non-stock and cost methods for the part?

I remember seeing costs not show on where I expect depending on some of the settings and processing sequence of jobs.

The “Enable MFG Cost Elements” is only for Epicor Projects.

In Part Maintenance, the part is marked as non-stock and the costing method is average.
