Insights 2019 Debrief, Photos and Memories!

We had a great time at Epicor Insights 2019, feel free to share your thoughts , pictures, funny videos and more. Looking forward to seeing everyone in Nashville 2020!!

Thank you again to @knash for putting together our party this year, it was a total success! Most everyone showed up and it was great to put faces to names.

If you presented at Insights and I know quite a few of us did please share your content so that those who couldn’t attend can also benefit. I have a few posts coming in early next week with the code from my presentations etc.

The new kinetic framework was EVERYWHERE and it is amazing, the new scheduling board is smooth and the new MES is sexy. I cannot wait till we can get our hands on it!

The e10help panel was awesome, @Banderson gave us a great lesson and a few good laughs on how to be a good member of a peer support group and how to properly get help. It was very informative and quite entertaining. @josephmoeller showed us some innovative ways to import data into our system, side stepping DMT and adding our own logic, out of the box thinking and quite helpful!
@Mark_Wonsil gave us a “tour de cloud” which completely changed my perspective on it, I cannot wait to move to the public cloud and hopefully get some more netflix in my life…, @amurdock showed us some pretty innovative thinking around Bartender and how his company has used this solution to significantly improve communication across plants! Bartender no longer means just labels, very cool Andrew!

One of our favorite epicoreans @Bart_Elia gave us a sneak peak into some of the amazing automation that epicor is implementing across the cloud and how we can use some of this ourselves to improve our upgrades and setup CICD style deployments. I demoed the Visual Studio Extension we’ve been working on and that was also very well received!

Congratulations once again to @hmwillett for winning the Insights 2019 RUG Cup, it would be quite cool if you could throw together a quick demo of your solution so we can all see it!

I was VERY surprised to have been nominated and won one of the EUG MVP awards, so THANK YOU EUG for throwing some love my way. I am tremendously lucky to be a part of such an amazing community

Not everything was work, and at the party we all had a blast… however what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas… (mostly) here are some photos from the week. Feel free to share your memories and what you learned

I’m already counting the days to the next insights,

PS: We had conversations with Epicor and they want MORE customer presenters next year, so PLEASE don’t be afraid, throw your hat in the ring. The customer presentations are 90% of the value of insights, seeing the problems being solved in the real wold by real people is great!

@MikeGross and I got to catch up a bit, great to see you again MIKE! (Only lemon water in that cup… cough)

@Mark_Wonsil told me quite a few dad jokes and I gladly suffered through them!

The one and only @Bart_Elia refused to get “LOW” with me at the party, but he did agree to take a selfie so that’s good enough…

Foundation Room at Mandalay has spectacular views, and awesome people to have a drink with including the talented @josephmoeller. Great to see you bud, and thanks for the drinks…

Here some pics from the E10Help dinner

The Epicor table a pantheon of brain power all at our disposal, and as @rbucek put it,… “non billable” , @knash got to sit with them all night! (benefit of planning the whole thing #Rigged)

Himanshu graced us with his rapping talents… (don’t quit your day job bud! you are really good at it!)

and yes… the bromance is still alive and well @jgiese.wci and I got to enjoy many a drinks and planned a whole bunch of nerdy projects for the forth coming year!

One of the great things this year was to be able to share the experience with one of my IRL best friends Christian and I go a long way back and I guess I nagged him enough about Epicor that he decided to buy it… (Where’s my commission… @Epicor?.. asking for a friend )

@rbucek and I went to the Hoover Dam however he refused to take a photo with me… probably because he had a beautiful girl next to him instead… #CantCompete

I also have some videos I can post… but I need approval first right @ERPSysAdmin? There was a lot of dancing on and off the party floor and I had a blast!

See you all next year! Please share your pics and your experience, the ROI is not just the knowledge and the products, it is incredibly exiting talking to other people who are as passionate as you are about this community!

Last but not least we are going forward with the re-branding of the site, we fixed all our issues and soon! So fear not , those shirts you bought will be awesome again! VERY SOON

Oh yeah, and you can bowl inside a casino in Vegas… cause… its VEGAS!
#DreamTeam we are going to nationals soon

One too many receptions?

Great memories and fantastic conference, as usual. I agree - we need more customer presentations and I will note that in the Epicor Insights Survey. I will be happy to be back in Nashville next year. :+1:

If Epicor is lurking – PLEASE find a new venue. There are other great cities in this country to host our wonderful event… Chicago, Dallas, Orlando, New Orleans, Myrtle Beach (biased opinion) :sunglasses:.

Flo Rida was better than expected, mainly because of the free alcohol and great friends. :grinning:

I still think my biggest take away was @josecgomez’s / @bderuvo’s Siri demonstration for auto-emailing PDF’d reports.

The E10 Help panel sessions were great and the Product Configurator session with @timshuwy.

Great time. Awesome to be back home, though. Already looking forward to Insights 2020.

A side note, how many of you would be interested in a E10 Help convention sometime in late summer/early autumn? Something to ponder… Somewhat like a REUG meeting, but bigger and better.

Good seeing you all!

I’d be interested. I’d be willing to present a few things too. (and not just how to ask questions. )

Great write-up/recap @josecgomez! Really enjoyed seeing all you folks again - and meeting/making new friends!! So much to see (Kinetic) and so much to learn from everyone. Catching up with @josecgomez, @ERPSysAdmin (Danger Wil Robinson!), @Bart_Elia, @nhutchins, @aidacra, and everyone else was so much fun! I hope you all have a great next year so we can share even more stories next time

Special shout out to @Mark_Wonsil, @markdamen, and @jgiese.wci for working with me on a handful of issues/questions/problems and I look forward to working with you guys on a couple of those things we talked about.

And to @knash - the man who made the E10 party happen!
And to Brenda (via @rbucek) for making the other entertainment/party happen!!

I didn’t take too many pictures, but here’s a few more of the usual offenders

Thank you all for your attendance… It was a lot of fun (and work… yes there was work). I got my steps in… per my Apple Watch, my busiest day was Wednesday when I had 6.1 miles of walking. This included 2 round trips to my room which accounts for a total of 1 mile. The other 5.1 miles was walking between my 5 classes, and pacing while I talked.
