Handhelds MC9190

If you give each employee their own handheld and they have their own account to remote in to the App server then yes you can see which accounts are accessing. Ours are all going through one account, which does make it difficult if one handheld is having issues I don't know which one to logout from the app server.

One other question regarding the handhelds Is there a way to track which employee is using what specific handheld?

Thanks in advance.

If your handhelds run the datawedge program, the settings for enter or tab are in there. I believe under "Basic"

Is there a way to change the "Enter" key on the handhelds to become a "Tab" key? Or is there a "Tab" key already programmed on the handhelds that I am not seeing?

Thanks

Is there a way to change the “Enter” key on the handhelds to become a “Tab” key?  Or is there a “Tab” key already programmed on the handhelds that I am not seeing?

Thanks

We have an older model of the MC9000 series and we found that a tap on the screen acts as a “Tab”.
The tap may have to be in the field that you want to “Tab” out of.

There’s usually a configuration change you can make to change the behavior after a scan (ie: send tab instead of send enter).  Models I’ve worked with in the past had a page in the manual that contained a bar code – you simply scanned that bar code and it changed the behavior to a TAB.   Have you read through the manual for this model?

We are using CE 6.0 on MC9190 and we have to install the DataWedge software (got from Motorola).

1.       Install DataWedge and run on the host with the handheld in the cradle.

2.       Warm boot Handheld.

3.       On the handheld,go to Control Panel.
Click the ScanWedge icon and select
Configà Setup to configure the ScanWedge utility
Note the new icon in the system tray.  The laser will now be seen when the trigger is pressed on the barcode gun.
IMPORTANT: Do not ever point the laser in to someone’s eyes. All lasers are dangerous!!

4.       Click ‘Running” to where it is yes and the status is READY.

5.       Select “Basic Configuration”

6.       Select “3. Basic Format”.

7.       Remove check from “7. Send ENTER” key

8.       Add check “6. Send TAB key”.

9.       Select “0. Back”

10.   Select “0. Exit”

11.   Test with Microsoft WordPad on Handheld desktop.

Hopefully helpful,
