Dina-

You need to refer back to the installation guide for Version 4.00.
There is a section on page 5 called Installation-Sensitive Changes for
Vantage 4.00. The third headline says "Net Income" Account Category.

A checkbox has been added to the G/L Category Maintenance window, called
"Net Income". After you have installed Vantage 4.00, you must select one
category (and only one) as the Net Income Category. This category will be
used to record P/L from income statements on the balance sheet. Failure to
do so will prevent you from running balance sheet reports in Vantage

Please respond
to vantage

I finally went live with 4.0 yesterday. But the person in accounting
said they are getting an error when they go to run their balance sheet
"one net income account is required". These reports worked fine in 3.0

Anyone have any ideas why I am getting this error and how do I fix it.
If it is easier to call me. Please do.

TIA.

Dina,
Did you read the e-mail from John Koppes of Precision Machine &
Manufacturing? It sounds like he has real 4.0 experience with it. You
might want to contact him directly.

Account categories determine how things sum up on your financial
statements. You need to have one account category that is marked as a Net
Income Account category (It's a check-off box in the category master file)
for the balance sheet. I believe this designation triggers the balance
that is brought to the balance sheet from the income statement.

Hope this helps.

Nora
