I’ll defer conversation on the exact Epi Social question but having deployed several social platforms, a couple of critical things to making any of them successful:
You have to seed it with relevant data. If there are 6 areas to find similar data - you are doomed. You need one source of information or the social platform will not gain traction
All ‘Expert’ / ‘Lead’ / 'Management personnel need to make there announcements there, not in email or other areas. If the leaders do not engage, no one will.
Don’t answer in Email. If someone skirts the social platform and goes directly to you, politely say “let’s move this conversation to ‘Social Platform X’ so it does not get forgotten or we have to repeat this” Basically preserve it as the source of record.
For me personally it reduced my emails ~80%. I am in an extreme position but it has worked wonders.
