Epicor 9.05.700C - CRM versus SalesForce.com

Joe,

We are looking at Sales Force and using the Connect software from Alternative. How often are you running into the data out of sync problems and how do you get the data back in sync?

Thanks,

David

We are on 9.05.702 and we are syncing data from Epicor to SFDC (and in
some cases from SFDC to Epicor) using a product called Connect that we
had implemented by Alternative.

Overall, it is good but we have some issues with data syncing. This is
not so much a software issue as it is addressing issues that come up
because things get way out of sync.

We are looking into possibly getting Salesforce.com as the Epicor CRM is
quite lacking.

Has anyone done this? Is there any company out there that has
interfaced it to Epicor?

If you have done this, are you happy with the result?

I think SalesForce (or MS Dynamics) provide more of what typical users expect/want from CRM.

The CRM module on the other hand is good for coordinating V8/E9 activities via  "tasks", "workforce", etc...

Some companies want both, the CRM module and a separate CRM package.

If you do get SalesForce or Dynamics, be prepared to eventually looking at data syncing or integration too.

Service Connect + Scribe?

FWIW, Epicor itself just recently released its own Industry Extension for integrating Epicor 9 and Salesforce.com:

and

Would be great to see them do something similar for SalesLogix, now that it is no longer part of Sage.
