Emailing Purchase orders

Thanks Jim and Manasa, will investigate your PDF programs first. Butch,
your idea sounds great, would appreciate any feedback on if you manage
to get this path working. Creating BAMS is a bit out of my league at the
present, so I can't proceed without some help!!

We've talked about e-mailing PO's as well and are going to start doing
it hopefully next month (too much on my plate right now). I was going
to try one of two methods:

Method 1: Use PDF Creator (free - open source) to have the user print to
create the PDF and e-mail out the PO.
Method 2: Create a BAM based on [maybe] the PORel table to ask a
confirmation to e-mail the PO. If the user answers yes, automatically
send out the PO.

Method 2 is what I will try first. Anybody else try this method?

We currently print purchase orders as a Crystal report function. We
wish to investigate emailing purchase orders to some of our suppliers.
What steps do we need to take to allow us to do so. How do we select
only the Vendors Purchase orders which we wish to email, and print the
rest as we are already doing. Do we need to buy more software to create
the document to email?
Thanks in advance. ( we are on Vantage 6.1 )

We use pdf factory. Yes you have to buy it (don't know cost off hand).
It's a printer application for the server distributed to your clients.

Once installed on the client, when you go to print the PO all you do is pick
the pdf factory printer and it brings up your email to send out.

Very easy to use!
