Customer Tracker

A philosophical observation, I'm not trying to be critical but are they so undisiplined that they can't be trusted not to change info. Course I'm in a small organization (100+) you may be in a different set of conditions.

Terry,

Why don't you give them access to Customer Maintenance instead of Customer Tracker. This way they can change your phone numbers if they are changed or add contacts. and you will not give them access to orders, invoices, etc....

Dina:
I've considered Maintenance, but then I remove control of my customer
master file from administration not to mention I've now given them access to
credit information. Thanks for the suggestion.

Been there, done that. Reports were winding up in the wrong hands in the
wrong places.

Terry:

Why not give them shop vision, then drill down and keep them out of anything
you don't want them to have (such as the backlog and so on)? That way, you
can give them a ton of trackers and they can't go anywhere else. Also, if
you make an Engineer Security Group and put all of them in it, then you only
have one thing to add in menu security.

Terry,

I understand your concerns, but what I have noticed my engineering department has there own list of telephone numbers (different program for service) and administration has another (they don't seem to talk) so if one gets an update the other doesn't - by giving
engineering customer maintenace I avoid that problem. As for the credit information, we decided we would rather them see how much they can spend vs. how much they did.
