Cannot ship jobs after I use "Job Receipt to Inventory"

I have got a Make to Order Job, at the end of the process, I decided to receipt to inventory to store it for little while.

Now I want to Create a Shipment for the Sales Order Release, so I go to create a Customer Shipment Entry. I want to pull the stock “From Inventory” instead of “From Manufacturing”, I get an error.

So I add the job number in and put Qty to 0.

I will get the following error

What is the proper procedure on receipt to Inventory? Do I have to change the sales order?

We do it all the time and never have any issues. Ship from inventory and all job fields should be cleared in shipment entry.

In the Sales Order Release, did the flag Make Direct ticked? I have the flag ticked and the job is created from the Sales Order. So when I am shipping, it expect the shipment from Manufacturing rather than inventory. I will do more investigation on how we should use the Customer Shipment entry.

Turned out it is a Company Configuration setting:

If you want to ship from any job or inventory, you will need to have the setting

“Allow Shipment from any Job” to be ticked.
