BPM Data Form

I created a BPM Data form to enter some information, Number of materials to be added (numeric), Part Description (string) and a Cancel button. Both values are mandatory but when I click on Cancel button the mandatory field box is displayed. Does anybody know how to avoid this? I mean if the Cancel button is clicked the mandatory message shouldn’t be displayed just when clicking the OK button. Besides this, is there a way to create our own exception message? The default value for Number of materials to be added is 1 but when I clear it out the exception message is not displayed

Don’t make the fields mandatory, rather in customiation or bpm check that values are provided.
