BAQ Export Process utility

IF you need to go the .bat way, Here is one I use, it watches for files to show up and then copies them.  We had to do this when we couldn’t get there from here so to speak:

            IF Exist C:\PDF\EpicorReady\*.pdf (

                        DIR /b C:\PDF\EpicorReady\*.pdf > C:\PDF\EpicorReady\list1.txt

                        For /F "tokens=* delims=" %%A in (C:\PDF\EpicorReady\List1.txt) Do Echo C:\PDF\EpicorReady\%%A >> C:\PDF\EpicorReady\InFiles.txt

                        copy C:\PDF\EpicorReady\*.pdf \\HUMTOWN.LOCAL\Humtown\Epicor\10\InvcHead\*.pdf

                                                DEL C:\PDF\EpicorReady\*.pdf

            DEL C:\PDF\EpicorReady\*.txt )

I’m not sure what your knowledge level is with regard to BAT files, so I’ll just post this link for you to read through:  http://bit.ly/1bwq91S

There are many examples.

Could you help explain how you set up a scheduled bat file?  I have not tried this and would like to export it to a FTP location.

I think I tried this once and it worked…But, just try yourself to see too…I think it is just a matter of putting in the full path where you usually just put in the filename?

Does anyone know if it is possible to specify a file export location within the BAQ export process utility?  We would like to be able to change the saved file location from the default file directory location.  If not, are there other ways to auto export it from the Epicor default file location to a specified FTP file location?

Where do you go in Epicor to change the "full path" filename?

Subject: [Vantage] BAQ Export Process utility

Does anyone know if it is possible to specify a file export location within the BAQ export process utility?  We would like to be able to change the saved file location from the default file directory location.  If not, are there other ways to auto export it from the Epicor default file location to a specified FTP file location?

Could you help explain how you set up a scheduled bat file?  I have not tried this and would like to export it to a FTP location.

If Karen’s suggestion doesn’t work (I’m curious if it does!)…… I usually shuttle the files out to another designated folder with a scheduled bat file.  I would do hourly data dumps and they would always take approx. 5 mins to complete, so at the 10 minute mark I’d trigger my BAT file and it would copy the XML to another location.

Change/Enter the path when you open the BAQ Export Process screen.

Where do you go in Epicor to change the "full path" filename?

I’m not sure what your knowledge level is with regard to BAT files, so I’ll just post this link for you to read through: http://bit.ly/1bwq91S

There are many examples.

I always do mine as Karen Suggested with the full path.  I use this to set off Service Connect flows nightly.  (ie:  \\HUMSERVCON\SCWork\ARInvGroup\Drop\EPINVG.CSVI didn’t know you could put just the filename in there ~ go figure.

I changed the file path name in the 'Output Filename' field but then a message pops up prompting 'Filename not entered'.  I don't see the field to enter the file path name or should I include the filename within the file path name in the 'Output Filename' field?

Change/Enter the path when you open the BAQ Export Process screen.

Where do you go in Epicor to change the "full path" filename?

Does anyone know if it is possible to specify a file export location within the BAQ export process utility?  We would like to be able to change the saved file location from the default file directory location.  If not, are there other ways to auto export it from the Epicor default file location to a specified FTP file location?

No, the user doesn’t need to be logged in. Although, I think there is even an option for this in Scheduler….

Do you know if the user who created the Scheduled system agent task to run the BAQ export process needs to stay logged in for the process to be run on a set interval time?

I always do mine as Karen Suggested with the full path.  I use this to set off Service Connect flows nightly.  (ie:  \\HUMSERVCON\SCWork\ARInvGroup\Drop\EPINVG.CSVI didn’t know you could put just the filename in there ~ go figure.

Here is an active example of one of mine:  //HUMEPICOR1/Epicor905/ParadoxExport/RMAOpen.csv

The slashes need to be backwards for some reason.

I changed the file path name in the 'Output Filename' field but then a message pops up prompting 'Filename not entered'.  I don't see the field to enter the file path name or should I include the filename within the file path name in the 'Output Filename' field?

You don’t need to enter a filepath location. It automatically selects //server/epicordata/user/BaqExportname

The system does default it into that location but we are trying to change the default location to a specified file location on a different server.  I was able to get it working to a different server but it seems to only allow it to save to a Shared file location.  Eventually we want it to save to an FTP location.

You don’t need to enter a filepath location. It automatically selects //server/epicordata/user/BaqExportname

Where do you go in Epicor to change the "full path" filename?

Does anyone know if it is possible to specify a file export location within the BAQ export process utility?  We would like to be able to change the saved file location from the default file directory location.  If not, are there other ways to auto export it from the Epicor default file location to a specified FTP file location?

Then it should work if that location is shared…

The system does default it into that location but we are trying to change the default location to a specified file location on a different server.  I was able to get it working to a different server but it seems to only allow it to save to a Shared file location.  Eventually we want it to save to an FTP location.
