As a job shop (everything is custom made) we provide configurator based quotes all the time. Our problem is that we still need to manually keep up with a lead-time sheet - which is a time consuming necessary evil in any job shop.
We understand that a quote is not an order and the more general logic of CTP would typically only apply to orders, but our orders are immediately converted to jobs and put on the schedule. If CTP was available at the quote (which has everything needed as far as I know) the lead time would be much more realistic than our periodically updated manual lead time sheets. And more accurate delivery dates = happier customers!
